Victoria Barkby
How can I help you improve your health?
Hello! You may recognise me as the redhead who 'just always seems to be here' or are familiar with my...shall we say 'enthusiastic tone' coming from one of the studios! Perhaps we haven't met each other yet?! In any case, let me tell you a little about myself...
My own fitness journey began in 2016, when I shuffled into the gym for the first time, crippled with anxiety and low self-esteem - I did not have a clue. I started working with a Personal Trainer of my own, who is now one of my best friends! It was through those PT sessions that I pushed far. far beyond what I initially thought I was capable of and have developed a deep passion for fitness and wellbeing.
Many people see the gym as somewhere you go to tear yourself apart, in the hope of feeling better. I don't see it that way! I see a space where you can step in a new direction. Not to tear yourself down - but to build yourself up! Sometimes we aren't sure where to start, or get lost along the way - don't worry! That's where I come in! Come find me in the gym and say hello!
How I Can Improve Your Health:
Strength Training
There are many different ways to 'gym'. One of the most effective and my personal favourite is strength training! Aside from improving general strength, this is an excellent way to tone up, aid in weight loss, strengthen joints and provides a serious dose of feel good!!
Creating & Maintaining Healthy Habits
Half the battle in making any kind of lifestyle change is sticking with it! Most of what we do on a daily basis, we do without thinking. This is great if those habits are in line with our goals - but a bit of a pain if they take us further away from the best version of ourselves.
Little by little, little becomes a lot. The trick is making those healthy habits automatic - then the progress takes care of itself.
Improving Mindset & Motivation
We're all human, we have good days and bad ones. It can be easy to beat ourselves up for not looking a certain way, moving a certain way or lifting a certain amount of weight. Let me offer you an alternative - it's much easier to make progress (and keep making progress), when you treat yourself with a bit of kindness. You will find this brings about lasting results, and a greater sense of achievement and enjoyment in the long run!
